This provides a list of mental health resources available within the Tony Hillerman Middle School Community and within Albuquerque.  This list is not comprehensive. APS and THMS neither endorse, approve or recommend any specific provider listed. Please check with your insurance provider for resources provided specifically by your insurance.

Counseling Services

Meet the counselor to discuss any of the following:

Conflict Resolution
Coping Skills
Safety Concerns for self and others
*School counselors do not provide therapy
 

Confidentiality & Informed Consent
Information discussed with the school counselor is private unless the  information needs to be shared for the following reasons:

The student is in danger of harming themselves or others.
For instances of child abuse and neglect.
Court ordered subpoenas
 
If information needs to be shared, the counselor will make every effort to let the student know of the appropriate source(s) that need to be contacted. This may be a parent/guardian, administrative personnel, protective services, or law enforcement. Although the information shared during a counseling meeting is confidential and our primary responsibility is to our students, we also acknowledge parents/guardians rights to be informed.
